My name is Kalen Martin-Gross. I am a passionate historian, amateur photographer, and bibliophile whose mountain roots run deep. I grew up mean as a snake in Southwest Virginia, got educated in Northwest North Carolina, and now I currently reside in Northern Virginia. My intention with this blog to keep our Appalachian heritage alive by sharing the events, locations, habits, and beliefs that make this region and its people unique to the world.
For those interested in my photography, you can find some of my photos throughout this blog and on my portfolio at kdmgphotography.com.
